contakt-citoyenneté: SAD provides expert advice for projects which promote intercultural living

The contakt-citoyenneté programme supports people with initiative who want to work together to actively promote different cultures living together in Switzerland. Good individual ideas for integration projects receive financial support and expert advice. SAD has been working on this national programme, mandated by the Migros Culture Percentage and the Federal Commission on Migration (EKM) through its planning stages and implementation, and supports many of the 30 selected project groups with its expert knowledge.

In 2013, sportanddev celebrates its 10 year anniversary: The International Platform on Sport & Development
(www.sportanddev.org) is a website entirely dedicated to the thematic field of ‘Sport & Development’. The Platform was subsequently launched in November 2003 by the Swiss Academy for Development (SAD) and has been operated by them ever since. The Platform has thereafter become the leading online resource for the field of Sport & Development.
RECI: Commitment to high quality education for all

The Swiss Network for Education and International Cooperation (RECI) is part of a global network that works to raise the quality of education globally. In 2012, SAD was entrusted with running the secretariat of the RECI for a renewable period of two years. SAD's long-time experience with managing networks supports RECI member organisations in exchanging their experiences. This will allow for relevant educational institutions and specialists to share their good practice expertise more easily, which will ultimately aim to improve the quality of international standards of education. SAD therefore plays a central role in this Swiss Network for Education and International Cooperation.
SAD wins Ecopop prize

The Swiss Academy for Development is pleased to announce that we have received this year’s Ecopop prize for our ‘Move 4 New Horizons’ (M4NH) project. M4NH is working in Nepal to improve access to schooling and vocational training for children from marginalised groups and has already received several awards and commendations.
So far more than 2000 Nepalese children and young people have benefited from the non-formal sport and play-based approach. Thanks to the prize from Ecopop, modules on voluntary family planning will also be integrated into the vocational training programme for school leavers and young job-seekers.
A Project in Kriens and Ebikon
Together with the Sri Lankan NGO Future Peace, SAD promotes dialogue at the local community level in Sri Lanka. Sport & play serves as a platform for children and youth to enter into dialogue and (re)build relationships transcending ethnic boundaries.
