| In the summer of 2004, SAD evaluated the
campaign “Protect Children In War” which was co-organised by the Union of
European Football Associations (UEFA) and the International Committee of the
Red Cross (ICRC), on the occasion of the European Football Championship 2004 in
Portugal.
The goal of the evaluation was to assess
the success of the campaign with regards to both its visibility in the
international media, as well as the cooperation of the organisations involved.
Out of this came recommendations for a possible future campaign during the EURO 2008.
The evaluation was based on expert
interviews, a media analysis, observations, and document analysis.
