The interventions tested in this research have a modular setup and are implemented in a quasi-experimental setting. As basic interventions a livelihood approach was selected to address the most severe material hardship of participants as well as children’s committees which form the basic child-centered intervention. These interventions took place in the whole research community except in two villages of which one serves as a control group site where interventions are only implemented at the end of the research, and one village where only livelihood interventions are implemented. 

Subgroups of the sample that participated in Children’s committees were additionally enrolled in either one of two specific psychosocial interventions: Hero Book or Tree of Life. The pictures portray the activities within the different interventions.
