SAD is evaluating and overseeing three integration projects for unaccompanied minor migrants, which are being conducted by the Spanish Red Cross (SRC). The main goal is to create a successful concept for the evaluation of further integration projects.
The SRC supports both adult and minor immigrants in all of Spain with various different measures. In San Sebastian, Madrid, and Lanzarote activities are carried out under the name CRoNO, with the aim of facilitating the integration process of minor unaccompanied migrants. A special feature of this project is the personal care that the participants receive from the SRC employees and volunteers, with the goal of better catering to the needs and concerns of the youth.
In close cooperation with the SRC, SAD is conducting an evaluation of the three projects of CRoNO. The integration process of the participating youth is being continuously monitored and the role of the project activities in this process will be examined. Aside from the knowledge gained with regard to the continuation of the activities in Spain, this study aims to develop and test an effective model for the evaluation of integration projects for young migrants in general.
Project Goals
- Evaluation of the integrative effects of three projects of the SRC for unaccompanied minor migrants in Spain.
- Examination of the effects of the project’s various methods of intervention.
- Drawing up recommendations for the SRC’s integration projects for migrant youths.
- Formulation of a transferable model for the analysis and evaluation of integration projects for migrant youths in general.
Project Course and Activities
SAD is working on a concept and study design for the evaluation of integration projects. This will be applied to the examination of the integrative effects of three projects of the SRC. The integration process of participating youth, mainly Moroccan immigrants, will be studied and analyzed over the course of a year. Along with written questionnaires for both those in charge of the projects as well as the youth, semi-structured and group interviews, and participatory monitoring instruments will also be applied.
The knowledge gained from this will flow directly into the continuation of SRC’s projects. Aside from this, the tested concept for evaluating other integration projects will be made available.
Target Group
Managers and coordinators of integration projects; corporate social responsibility departments within companies; private and public institutions working in the area of integration.
