SAD’s project “Intercultural dialogue Turkey“ offered people with different cultural and religious backgrounds a platform for exchange and networking. It focused on actors in civil society in Turkey as well as communities of migrants from Turkey currently living in Switzerland. By presenting different view points and opening up common perspectives it made it possible for them to get to know each other and reach across boundaries. The project report offers an insight into initiating and facilitating a dialogue within a very heterogeneous group. Using the “Story Telling” approach was especially useful as it made it possible to raise sensitive topics and taboos and discuss them within the group. As a tangible output the group planned and produced a short film which portrays the cultural diversity of the participants.
