Ruveni Wijesekera was born and raised in Sri Lanka and has been living since 1995 in Europe (Austria, England and Switzerland). She received her Masters Degree in English & American studies and Social and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Vienna (Austria) and the University of Exeter (England). In 2005, she completed an internship at FLICT - Facilitating Local Initiatives for Conflict Transformation, a project implemented by the GTZ in Sri Lanka. Since September 2006, she has been working for SAD on an intercultural dialogue project in Turkey and in Switzerland. Since November 2007, she is working as a project manger in Sport & Development. In 2010 she completed her mediation training at inmedio/DEZA (SDC) and is now a qualified mediator. She is currently completing a certificate in international development (NADEL) at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich.
